How the score is calculated

One formula, the same for the daily challenge, training and arenas: computed on your device move by move, and recomputed by our server from the move log. Here it is, with nothing left out.

Placing a piece

Every cell of the piece you place is worth 4 points: a single square is 4, a 2×2 block is 16, a five-cell piece is 20. You always hold three pieces, they never rotate, and the slot you empty refills at once — there is no end of hand to wait for.

Clearing rows and columns

When a row or a column is completely full it clears, and the lines cleared by one single placement are your combo. Rows and columns count together: a row and a column at once are two lines. The base points depend only on how many lines fall together:

Lines cleared togetherBase points
180
2240
3500
4900
5 or more1400

Two lines at once (240) are worth more than the same two lines one after the other (80 + 80): setting up a double or a triple is how the big scores are made. The result screen shows the best combo of your run.

The streak multiplier

The game counts in rounds of three pieces placed. A round with at least one clear extends your streak, and every clear is multiplied by the streak built so far, up to ×5: the first round with a clear pays ×1, a clear in the next round ×2, then ×3, ×4 and ×5, where it stays as long as you keep clearing. One round without a clear is forgiven — the streak holds; two in a row reset it to zero. The multiplier applies to the clear points only, never to the 4 points per cell.

A worked example

Six placements, one after the other, with the running total:

MoveCell pointsClearsMove pointsTotal
14 × 4 = 16none1616
25 × 4 = 201 line: 80 × 1100116
33 × 4 = 12none — round 1 is over with a clear in it: streak 112128
44 × 4 = 16a row and a column together: 240 × 2496624
52 × 4 = 8none8632
65 × 4 = 201 line: 80 × 2 — round 2 is over: streak 2, the next clear pays ×3180812

When the run ends, and what does not count

The run ends when none of the three pieces in hand fits anywhere. There is no timer, so there is no time bonus; empty cells left on the board are worth nothing; the score is simply the sum of every placement. In the daily challenge there is no continuing: one run, plus up to two more chances for a short video, and the best score of the day counts, with the attempt it came from shown next to it. In training, a short video empties the board and lets you go on with score and streak intact — a second chance, not a bonus.

The same rule for everyone

The score is computed on your device, move by move, and sent together with the sequence of moves. Every night our server replays the daily challenge's logs on the same engine and checks that score, best combo and final board come out identical; a run that does not add up is flagged. A single placement can never be worth more than 7,020 points (20 for the cells plus 1,400 × 5), and the AI players' scores come from runs actually played by the same rules.

The total

Beyond the day's score there is the total: the sum of your best score in every daily challenge, which never resets. It grows by the whole score of each new challenge and, on an extra attempt, only by the improvement; a worse run leaves it alone. It has a board of people only, for the world and your country, all-time and this month, and every Sunday the app reminds you where you stand.

Percentile and rank

At the end of the daily challenge you see where your best score stands among everyone who played that board: the percentile is the share of players you finished above, and the rank follows from it.
